Class #1 Post

9/29: Hello, my name is Kasey. I am a fourth year student in the major of Anthropology(B.S.). I am also pursuing a minor in Digital Cultural Heritage and History of which I am expected to complete both in the spring of 2023. My special interests include archaeology, historical preservation, and special interests in ethnobotany, geology, and North American pre-history.

I am from the local area and have grown up within the Lansing area. My experience growing up in this area has developed my interest in the field of anthropology and my desire to experience more of the natural world and the history that may not always be widely known.

Over the most recent months I have been working toward furthering my knowledge in these interests and in related fields. I participated in the Campus Archaeology Program field school this summer and I have also been spending much time reading in order to further my knowledge in many subdisciplines.

In my spare time I enjoy to craft many things along the nature of sewing both garments and quilts, creative writing, foraging, and house plant handicraft. For work I also am employed at a local greenhouse where I have worked for almost three years. This has sparked a love for house plants, of which I have dozens, as well as a large knowledge and love for both annuals and perennials.

In my free time I very much enjoy to multitask, watching various movies, shows, and documentaries while also crafting whatever might strike my fancy. Keeping myself busy is quite enjoyable to me and I feel that I do my best when occupied.

I look forward to learning more skills in this class and
